Katie grew up in the small town of Hesston, Kansas with a true passion for sports. Football was always her first love; however, because there was no avenue at that time for her to play organized football, she began investing in basketball. She played basketball, volleyball, and track in High School and then moved on to play basketball, soccer, softball and track in college.In 2009 Katie began playing football for the West Michigan Mayhem (WR and LB) and then moved to Kansas City where she began playing for the Kansas City Tribe (WR, SS, LB). She was selected as a league All-American during her first year playing and have been selected for this honor every year since. In 2013 she was selected as a starting strong safety for the USA Women's National Football team where she won a gold medal and was the recipient of game MVP in their game against Germany, accumulating 5 interceptions in one game (3 of which were returned for TDs).In 2014, Katie became the starting QB for the Titans and also received the award for Offensive MVP for the American Conference in the WFA as a first year QB. In 2015 she became the General Manager for the Women's tackle football team in Kansas City and also served as a WRs coach under Charlie Weis during the East West Shrine Game.In 2016 Katie was offered an opportunity to serve as a WR coaching intern for the Atlanta Falcons training camp/pre season and then moved on to serve as a seasonal full time scouting intern for the Falcons for the remainder of the year. In 2017 she was hired on for the season as an Offensive Assistant for the San Francisco 49ers.Before Atlanta, she was the Athletic Director for the City of Kansas City Missouri and she has a BA in Physical Education and a Master’s in Kinesiology/ Pedagogy. Katie also serve on the advisory committee for USA Football.
